Choose the right slope for your skills
We have compiled a list of useful tips for our guests who will be skiing for the first time.
On the slopes
Choose the right slope according to your skills. Green slopes are the easiest. After come the blue, red and black slopes. Black slopes should be taken only by experienced skiers who have good skills and have skied many times before.
A great start is to learn the basics of skiing. In order to ensure your own safety, as well as that of the other skiers, it is important that you learn to take the lift, and are able to turn and stop on skis. Let your teacher know how much you can do on skis, so that they will place you in the right group for your ski lesson.
Remember to always give right of way to the person skiing in front of you. If you fall, try to move to a safe spot as soon as you can, in order to avoid being accidentally run over.
On the lift
When you take the button or anchor lift, you must follow the designated track that leads up the mountain. Going outside of it may cause the lift to stop. When you take the chairlift, take down the security bar as soon as you board the lift.
In the security manual by the Swedish organization for professionals in the snow industry, SLAOs lilla gula, you can find out more about your rights and obligations when you visit a ski resort. This manual (in Swedish) is available at all SkiPass vending points throughout the resort.
